The Revivalist (Al-Mujaddid) is the one about whom the Prophet (God bless him and give him peace) said: “God will send to this ummah at the beginning of each century someone (a revivalist) who will revive its dīn.” Authentic ḥadith reported by Abu Dawūd on the authority of Abu Hurayra (God be pleased with him). The Revivalist may be an individual or an elite.
