The earthquake that struck several regions of Morocco on the evening of September 8 remains the strongest in the country’s history.
Indeed, the provisional toll is heavy and telling, with more than 2,000 martyrs, hundreds of injured, and a large number of people still buried. Panicked, many Moroccans spent the night from 8 to 9 September in the streets of their neighborhoods. What a dreadful tragedy!
Following this sad situation, we extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as to the entire Moroccan people. Our thoughts also go to the disaster victims who are still suffering from the extent of the damage from this terrible disaster.
We belong to God, and to Him, we shall return.
