If you are a seeker of knowledge, make the time to properly attend to your studies. After establishing the ritual prayer, reciting the Qur›ān, and engaging in the Divine remembrance, your number-one priority is to acquire the basic teachings of the faith.
After that, your priority is to succeed in your academic studies, for academic studying is the jihād of this stage of your life. Accordingly, focus on those books that will benefit you both in this world and in the Hereafter. As a sage once remarked, “Tell me what books you read, and I can tell you who you are.”
