The genuine meaning of “Islamist” is an observant man or woman who jointly works for re-establishing Islam as a faith and a way of life. Owing to the demonising power of the media coupled with the disgraceful image presented by some Muslim activists, Islamists are all introduced as radical, violent terrorists.
