Chapter 109 [al-Kāfirūn]

– Farwa ibn Nawfal (God be pleased with him and his father) reported that his father said: “I went to visit God’s Messenger (God bless him and grant him peace). He [the Messenger] said, ‘What did you come for?’ I said, ‘I would like you to teach me something I would say before I sleep. He said, ‘Read Chapter 109 and sleep right after you read it. It is an absolution from polytheism.’” Hadith narrated by al-Hākim(God have mercy upon him) in his mustadrak. Al-Hākim said: “The hadith is authentic according to the norms set by al-Bukhāri and Muslim.

– Ibn ‘Abbās (God be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (God bless him and grant him peace) said: “[The merit of] Chapter 109 equals [that of] the fourth of the Qur’ān.” Hadith narrated by al-Hākim (God have mercy upon him) in his mustadrak.
